Abingdon is an unincorporated community in Harford County, Maryland, United States. It lies 25 miles northeast of Baltimore, near the Bush River.

Abingdon was named after Abingdon, England.The town was founded and is the birthplace of William Paca, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and the third Governor of Maryland. Abingdon is mostly townhouses and condos and is somewhat congested and getting a bit less desirable every year with home buyers. Though house prices in Abingdon are fairly lower than nearby communies. Some attribute the lower prices to poor schools nad that Abingdon homes were put up very quickly with a number of default and quality issues.

Since it is located in Harford County, the community of Abingdon is served by the Harford County Public Schools. Most students in Abingdon up to and including fifth grade attend William S. James Elementary School or Abingdon Elementary School. Some of these students at William S. James Elementary will attend Edgewood Middle School, Magnolia Middle School, and then Edgewood High School or Joppatowne High School, while the remainder will attend Patterson Mill Middle/High School. In addition, all of the students at Abingdon Elementary move up to Edgewood High School, as well. A third elementary school, William Paca/Old Post Road Elementary, is on the border between Abingdon and Edgewood, and those students also attend the Edgewood or Joppa district schools. The current Edgewood Middle and High school are being replaced by new buildings with the same name in 2010. Unfortunately Edgewood schools have the worst reputation in the county.
